Info
BrightLocal is the strongest all-round local SEO tool, Semrush Local the best fit for teams already on Semrush, and Moz Local the cheapest listings product for one location. Local Falcon is the specialist for geo-grid rank tracking, and Yext is the sales-led enterprise option. All seven were scored on pricing transparency, MCP and API maturity, directory coverage and rank tracking.
BrightLocal is the best local SEO software for most businesses in 2026. A single location starts at $41 per month, or $369 per year, and that price already includes local rank tracking, a geo-grid and citation tracking. If you only need listings, Moz Local is cheaper. If you run a hundred locations and a procurement team, Yext is the one to talk to.
Local SEO software exists to answer three questions: where do we rank in Google Maps, are our listings consistent across directories, and what are customers saying about us. Most products here answer all three, and they differ mostly in how they charge. Nearly everything is priced per location, so a tool that looks cheap for one shop gets expensive across twenty. Prices and features below were verified against vendor pricing pages and documentation in October 2026.
Use a local SEO audit checklist to compare map visibility, business-profile accuracy, duplicate listings and review coverage. A local SEO audit tool should make those gaps clear before you pay for directory distribution or citation work. Check what is included for each location, because an audit and an ongoing listings subscription solve different problems.
Why You Need Local SEO Software
- Rankings that vary by street. A Google Maps ranking changes block by block, and a geo-grid shows where you are visible and where you vanish.
- Consistent business details. Mismatched names, addresses and phone numbers across directories weaken trust, and software syncs them from one source.
- Review visibility. Monitoring and replying to reviews in one place keeps response times down; our review management guide covers dedicated tools.
- Competitor benchmarks. You see which rivals take the map pack for your keywords and how you compare.
- Proof for clients or owners. White-label and scheduled reports turn rankings into something a client or franchise owner can read.
How We Evaluated
Each product was scored on pricing transparency, directory and feature coverage, MCP and API maturity, and how well it scales across locations. Facts come only from each vendor's own pricing pages, documentation and announcements. Where a vendor sells by quote, we say so and do not guess. The full approach is on our methodology page.
1. BrightLocal
BrightLocal is the broadest tool built only for local SEO. Rank tracking, geo-grid maps, citations, listings and reviews all live in one product, priced by the number of locations.
Pricing: One location: Track $41 per month ($369 per year, about $31 per month), Manage $54 ($485 per year), Grow $65 ($584 per year). Larger location bands cost more, for example Grow is $1,772 per year at 11 to 20 locations, and 100+ locations is quoted. Citation Builder is separate, from $2 per citation. 14-day free trial, no card.
Top Features
- Local rank tracking with 100 keywords per location
- Local Search Grid for geo-grid maps
- Local AI Visibility Tracker
- Citation Tracker and Citation Builder
- Listings sync and Google Business Profile audit
- Review monitoring, requests and widget
Pros
- Published per-location pricing at every size
- Official MCP server and public API
- Pay-as-you-go citation building with no subscription
Cons
- MCP access needs the Grow plan and BrightLocal Labs
- API access is custom-priced and has no sandbox
AI/MCP Integration: Official. BrightLocal launched an MCP server on January 15, 2026 that works with ChatGPT, Claude, Mistral and n8n; read access is live, and write actions were described as coming.
API Integration: Yes. REST API with JSON responses, API-key authentication and published rate limits, sold as custom-priced API Solutions.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only, with no on-premise option.
Platforms: Web app, REST API and MCP; listings across Google, Apple, Facebook, Bing and Yelp.
Best For: Single and multi-location businesses and agencies that want one local SEO tool at a known price.
Our take: Choose BrightLocal when you want rank tracking and listings together without negotiating. The catch is that the AI-assistant features and API sit behind the top plan or a sales conversation.
Editor score: 4.6/5. It has the widest feature set at a published price; gated MCP and API access cost it the last half point.
2. Semrush Local
Semrush Local is the local product inside Semrush, sold per location and addable to an existing subscription. Its pitch is a Google Business Profile agent that posts, replies and updates photos for you.
Pricing: Local Base $30 per location per month and Local Pro $60, both billed annually. Local Business (20+ locations) is custom-quoted. Extra users are $20 per month on the Local pricing page. Local-specific trial terms are not documented as of October 2026.
Top Features
- GBP AI Agent for posts, photos and review replies
- Map Rank Tracker with geo-grid heatmaps
- Listing Management across 70+ directories
- Review Management with auto-replies
- GBP audit and optimization plan
- Competitor heatmap and review reports
Pros
- $30 entry price per location
- Open Map Rank Tracker API for all Semrush users
- Sits inside the wider Semrush suite
Cons
- Listing and Review Management need the $60 Pro plan
- Map Rank Tracker is credit-capped at 375 or 1,225
AI/MCP Integration: Official MCP exists for Semrush, but it does not cover Local or Listing Management. It covers the Trends API, SEO API and Projects API.
API Integration: Yes. A Local API covers Listing Management, Review Management, GBP tools and Map Rank Tracker; Listing Management API is gated to Pro and Business.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only.
Platforms: Web app with Google Business Profile integration and 70+ listing directories that vary by country.
Best For: Teams that already use Semrush and want local tools under the same login.
Our take: Choose Semrush Local if the GBP agent saves you hours each week. Adobe completed its acquisition of Semrush on April 28, 2026, and Semrush's customer FAQ says there are no pricing changes announced, but it says nothing about Local's future.
Editor score: 4.4/5. Strong automation at a clear price; paywalled listings and an MCP that skips Local hold it back.
3. Moz Local
Moz Local keeps listings, reviews and social posting in one dashboard, with every location subscribed separately. It is the cheapest paid way to cover the listing basics.
Pricing: Lite $20 per month or $199 per year, Preferred $30 or $299, Elite $40 or $399, per location. Enterprise for 50+ locations is custom-quoted. Optional add-ons: Listings AI $14 per month, Reviews AI $10. No Moz Local free trial is documented as of October 2026.
Top Features
- Listing sync to 90+ directories
- Local Grid map-pack ranking heatmaps
- Review monitoring, responses and sentiment analysis
- Social posting to Google, Facebook and more
- Data Health and GBP performance insights
- Competitor analysis and agency permissions
Pros
- $199 per year for a single location on Lite
- Official MCP server with a dedicated Local endpoint
- Documented API covers Local locations and rankings
Cons
- Listings cover only the US, UK and Canada
- Review responses are limited to Google and Facebook
AI/MCP Integration: Official, in beta. Moz documents a Local MCP endpoint that needs a Moz Local subscription and is listed in Claude's connector directory.
API Integration: Yes. A JSON-RPC 2.0 API at moz.com/api/docs covers Moz Local location management, listing status, GBP impressions and Local Grid history.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only.
Platforms: Web dashboard; directories include Google, Facebook, Bing Places, Apple, Yellow Pages sites and data aggregators.
Best For: Small businesses in the US, UK or Canada that want listings and reviews at the lowest per-location price.
Our take: Choose Moz Local for one to ten US, UK or Canadian locations. Ten locations on Preferred is about $240 per month billed yearly. Moz is a Ziff Davis company, and we found no sale or sunset of the product.
Editor score: 4.3/5. Cheap and well documented; the three-country limit costs it points.
4. Synup
Synup rebuilt its platform in August 2026 around Sydekick, an AI agent that does listing corrections, review replies and social posts under approval rules. Every plan includes every feature; plans differ by location count and credits.
Pricing: Solo (1 location) $39 per month billed annually or $49 monthly. Premium (up to 10) $239 per month annually or $299 monthly. Pro (up to 25) $399 annually and Scale (up to 50) $719 annually; monthly prices for those two are not documented as of October 2026. Enterprise 50+ is custom. 14-day free trial on Solo only.
Top Features
- Sydekick AI agent with approvals and playbooks
- Listings sync with autonomous corrections
- Review monitoring, AI replies and request campaigns
- Social scheduling across locations
- Local Rank Grid and visibility score
- AI-search (AEO) reports
Pros
- All features on every plan
- White label from Premium up
- Official MCP server and REST API
Cons
- Agent work pauses when credits run out
- Trial excludes white labeling
AI/MCP Integration: Official. Synup's developer docs describe a Streamable HTTP MCP server with OAuth 2.1 and 351 tools across 18 domains, and one search snippet of the same docs shows a lower count, so treat the exact number as approximate.
API Integration: Yes. REST API v1 with bearer-key or OAuth authentication and plan-based rate limits; plan gating for API access is not documented.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only.
Platforms: Web app; 100+ publishers including Google, Apple, Bing, Facebook and in-car navigation systems; Slack and HubSpot integrations.
Best For: Agencies and multi-location brands that want white label and an agent doing the routine work.
Our take: Choose Synup when you manage clients. The credit model is the fine print: published credit allowances were quadrupled for launch, so the post-launch limits are unclear.
Editor score: 4.2/5. Excellent value per location at scale; credit limits and a new platform keep it mid-table.
5. Whitespark
Whitespark sells local SEO as separate products and says so on its pricing page. You can buy a rank tracker for $14 a month or a one-time citation cleanup done by humans, and you keep the logins either way.
Pricing: All USD. Local Rank Tracker from $14 per month (weekly, annual) or $17 monthly. Local Citation Finder from $33 per month annually. Local Ranking Grids from $10 per month for 2,000 credits. Reputation Builder $79 per location per month. Listings Service is a one-time fee: $399, $599 or $999 per US location. Local Platform for GBP management is $1 per location per month.
Top Features
- Competitor-based citation discovery
- Local Pack, Maps and organic rank tracking
- Geo-grid scans with white-label reports
- Review requests by email and SMS
- Bulk Google Business Profile management
- Human-done citation cleanup and building
Pros
- Low entry prices and no forced bundle
- One-time listings fees with customer-owned logins
- Official MCP server for Local Ranking Grids
Cons
- A full stack means buying four or more products
- MCP and API cover only Ranking Grids and a beta Rank Tracker API
AI/MCP Integration: Official, limited. A read-only MCP server covers Local Ranking Grids only; no MCP was found for Citation Finder, Rank Tracker or Reputation Builder.
API Integration: Yes, in beta. The Ranking Grids API is read-only; a separate Rank Tracker API appeared in search results but could not be confirmed on the page.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only.
Platforms: Web app; review tools monitor 100+ sites; no Chrome extension is documented.
Best For: Specialists and agencies that want to pick individual tools, or businesses that prefer a one-time cleanup.
Our take: Choose Whitespark when you only need one job done well. Add up the products you want first, because the à la carte total can pass a bundle.
Editor score: 4.1/5. Honest, cheap parts; the MCP and API cover too little to rank higher.
6. Local Falcon
Local Falcon is a geo-grid rank tracker. It says it pioneered the Share of Local Voice metric, and it now applies the same grid method to ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and Grok.
Pricing: Credit-based: Starter $24.99 per month (7,500 credits), Basic $49.99 (15,150), Pro $99.99 (31,250), Premium $199.99 (63,150). Annual plans are priced at the same monthly rate with about 12 times the credits. One credit is one map pin, so a 9x9 scan is 81 credits. 100 free credits at signup, no card.
Top Features
- Geo-grid scans on Google Maps and Apple Maps
- AI visibility scans across five AI platforms
- Campaigns and scheduled scans
- Falcon AI analysis and Falcon Agent
- Falcon Guard monitoring of 20 GBP fields
- AI review analysis and keyword research
Pros
- Official MCP server with 60+ tools on every plan
- API included from Starter
- Unlimited keywords and locations
Cons
- A rank tracker, with no listings or review management
- Monthly credits expire and large grids burn them fast
AI/MCP Integration: Official. A hosted MCP server at mcp.localfalcon.com, a Claude connector and a ChatGPT plugin; the MCP page claims 60+ tools, while a vendor text file cites 37 for the open source repo.
API Integration: Yes. REST API with an OpenAPI specification at docs.localfalcon.com; a separate On-Demand Scan API costs $199 per month plus $0.0032 per request.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS; the optional local MCP server is self-hosted.
Platforms: Web app with Looker Studio, Zapier, n8n and Slack alerts; no Chrome extension or mobile app is documented.
Best For: Agencies and consultants who sell geo-grid reports and AI-visibility tracking.
Our take: Choose Local Falcon as a specialist add-on to a listings tool, not as the only tool. One 21x21 scan is 441 credits, so the Starter monthly allowance covers about 17 of them.
Editor score: 4.0/5. Best tracker for the job; it does only that job.
7. Yext
Yext is the enterprise listings platform. It pushes data directly to 200+ publishers and manages it from a Knowledge Graph, and it publishes no prices.
Pricing: Custom-quoted. yext.com/pricing returns a 404 as of October 2026, and no price is published for Listings, Reviews, Pages or Scout. A free small-business tool called Corvo AI was announced on September 1, 2026, described by Yext as an early version.
Top Features
- Sync to 200+ publishers by direct API connection
- Listings Verifier against live publisher data
- 50+ managed listing fields
- Local listings analytics by publisher and location
- Action Center with approvals and audit trails
- Scout AI-search visibility agent
Pros
- Direct integrations with no aggregator in between
- Built for thousands of locations
- Public company (NYSE: YEXT) with documented APIs
Cons
- No published pricing and no self-serve entry point
- Newer features such as Scout and MCP are paid add-ons
AI/MCP Integration: Official, gated. Yext announced an MCP on June 17, 2026 for paying Scout customers; no public MCP docs page was found.
API Integration: Yes. Management, Content Delivery, Events and Agreements APIs at docs.yext.com, with an account and API key required.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only.
Platforms: Web app and iOS and Android Scout apps; publishers include Google, Apple, Facebook, Bing, Tripadvisor and Yelp.
Best For: Enterprises and franchises managing thousands of locations with a procurement process.
Our take: Choose Yext when scale, approvals and audit trails matter more than price. A buyer who wants to compare costs before a demo cannot do it here; competitor blogs guess at $199 to $999 per location per year, and we have not confirmed that on Yext's site.
Editor score: 3.8/5. A serious platform; the hidden price and gated new features rank it last for self-serve buyers.

How to Choose the Best Local SEO Tools
- Count your locations first. Almost everything here is priced per location, so the cheapest tool for one shop can be the dearest for twenty.
- Check where your customers are. Moz Local covers only the US, UK and Canada, and Whitespark's one-time packages are listed for nine countries.
- Decide whether you need listings, rank tracking or both. Local Falcon tracks rankings only, and Whitespark sells listings and tracking as separate products.
- Match the plan to the feature. Semrush Local's listing and review tools are on Pro, and BrightLocal's review tools are on Grow.
- Ask about white label if you serve clients. Synup includes it from Premium up.
- Check API and MCP access before you commit. BrightLocal and Semrush gate theirs by plan.
- Start with a trial. BrightLocal offers 14 days, Whitespark 14 days on some products, Synup 14 days on Solo, and Local Falcon 100 free credits.
Local SEO Software Pricing: What This Actually Costs
For one location on annual billing, a Semrush Local Pro plan with listings and reviews is $720 per year. BrightLocal Grow, with review requests, is $584, Synup Solo is $468, Moz Local Preferred is $299 and Moz Lite is $199. Whitespark's Rank Tracker on the Small Business weekly plan is $168 per year and its Citation Finder is about $396. For ten locations, Moz Local Preferred is roughly $2,880 per year and Synup Premium is $2,868 per year including every feature and white label. Semrush Local Pro at ten locations is $7,200. BrightLocal lists Grow at $1,772 per year for 11 to 20 locations; we did not capture its 6 to 10 band, so we have not priced exactly ten. Yext cannot be priced from public pages.
Final Thoughts
BrightLocal is the default recommendation because it covers tracking, citations and reviews at a price you can see. The exceptions are specific. Take Moz Local for the lowest per-location cost in the US, UK or Canada, Semrush Local if you already live in Semrush, Synup if you serve clients and want white label, and Local Falcon if geo-grid reporting is the product you sell. Whitespark fits buyers who want to pick parts, and Yext fits buyers who already expect a procurement cycle.
