Info
HubSpot is the strongest all-round lead scoring software, Salesforce the deepest on predictive scoring, and Freshsales the cheapest way into AI-assisted scores. ActiveCampaign fits email-led small teams, while Marketo, 6sense and ZoomInfo are sales-led. All seven were scored on pricing transparency, scoring depth, MCP and API maturity, and deployment flexibility.
HubSpot is the best lead scoring software for most teams in 2026. A rule-based score builder is included from Sales Hub Professional at $90 per seat per month, and AI-built scores arrive on the Enterprise tier. If you want the same idea at a lower price, Freshsales lists contact scoring under Pro at $39 per user per month. If you are an enterprise with a procurement team, Salesforce, Marketo and 6sense are the names to call.
Lead scoring software ranks leads so a sales team spends its week on the ones likely to buy. The tools differ in two ways that matter. Some score by rules you write, others train a model on your past deals, which is what buyers mean by predictive lead scoring software or AI lead scoring software. And most of the serious predictive options hide their price behind a sales call. If you are still choosing the CRM underneath, start with our CRM software roundup. Prices and features below were verified against vendor pricing pages and documentation in October 2026.
A lead scoring system needs clear ownership of the data, the scoring rules and the handoff to sales. When comparing predictive lead scoring tools or AI lead scoring tools, ask how much historical conversion data is needed, how a salesperson can explain a score, and how the model is monitored after launch.
Why You Need Lead Scoring Software
- Reps call the right people first. A ranked list replaces gut feel about which of 400 new leads matters this week.
- Marketing and sales agree on "qualified." A score threshold turns a vague argument into a number both sides set; marketing automation software is where most of those thresholds get enforced.
- Slow leads stop going cold. A score crossing a line can trigger an alert or a handoff the same hour.
- Wasted outreach drops. Negative points for unsubscribes or bad-fit job titles keep low-value leads out of the queue. Our lead generation guide covers the tools that feed that queue.
- You see what actually converts. Predictive models surface the traits your won deals share, which rules written from memory miss.
How We Evaluated
Each product was scored on pricing transparency, scoring depth (rule-based, predictive or both), MCP and API maturity, and deployment flexibility. Facts come only from each vendor's own pricing pages, documentation and announcements, plus one clearly labeled third-party price source where an official page would not render. Where a vendor sells by quote, we say so and do not guess. The full approach is on our methodology page.
One product was dropped late: MadKudu, a predictive scoring specialist, is now part of HG Insights, and its old domain redirects there, so we did not rank a brand that no longer stands alone.
1. HubSpot
HubSpot scores leads where the CRM record already lives. A score is a property on the contact, company or deal, so it feeds lists, workflows and reports without an integration.
Pricing: Sales Hub Professional starts at $90 per seat per month and Enterprise at $150. Marketing Hub Professional starts at $890 per month (3 core seats, 2,000 marketing contacts, $3,000 one-time onboarding) and Enterprise at $3,600 per month billed annually (5 core seats, 10,000 contacts, $7,000 onboarding). Rule-based scoring is included from Professional; predictive scoring and AI-built contact scores need Enterprise. HubSpot's own pricing page was an empty shell when fetched, so Marketing Hub figures come from its product and services catalog.
Top Features
- Rule-based score builder with positive and negative points
- Engagement, fit and combined scores
- Score decay at 1, 3, 6 or 12 months
- AI-built contact scores from conversion history
- Predictive likelihood to close within 90 days
- Scores usable in lists, workflows and reports
Pros
- Scoring updates the CRM record directly
- Rule-based scoring included on both Professional tiers
- Official remote MCP server
Cons
- Predictive and AI scores need Enterprise
- Onboarding fees of $3,000 to $7,000 on Marketing Hub
AI/MCP Integration: Official. HubSpot documents a remote MCP server at mcp.hubspot.com, listed as generally available since April 2026 in its developer changelog. Whether it exposes scoring-specific tools is not documented as of October 2026.
API Integration: Yes. A Lead Scoring API is in beta, and the resulting score is readable as a property through the CRM Objects API. Beta endpoints can change.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only, with no on-premise option.
Platforms: Web app; mobile app support was not verified.
Best For: Teams that want scoring inside the CRM and are willing to pay for Enterprise if they want a model to do the work.
Our take: Choose HubSpot when scoring has to drive workflows, not just a report. The catch is that the AI-built scores need at least 50 contacts split evenly between converted and not converted, and an Enterprise subscription.
Editor score: 4.6/5. Scoring is native and well documented; the Enterprise gate on predictive scoring costs it the rest.
2. Salesforce
Salesforce has the widest scoring coverage from one vendor. Einstein Lead Scoring gives each Sales Cloud lead a predictive score, and Account Engagement adds rule-based behavior scoring plus A to F grading for marketing teams.
Pricing: Sales Cloud per user per month: Starter Suite $25, Pro Suite $100 billed annually, Core $195 billed annually, Advanced $395, Max $550. Lead Scoring is marked "available for purchase" on Core and Advanced, with no price published. Account Engagement per organization per month: Growth+ $1,250 (lead nurturing and scoring), Plus+ $2,750 (AI-powered scoring), Advanced+ $4,400, Premium+ $15,000.
Top Features
- Einstein predictive lead score from 1 to 100
- Model per lead segment with a global fallback
- Account Engagement behavioral scoring rules
- A+ to F prospect grading
- AI-powered scoring on Plus+ and above
- Lead routing and assignment in Sales Cloud
Pros
- Predictive and rule-based scoring in one vendor
- Published Sales Cloud tiers from $25
- Prospect score and grade exposed in the API
Cons
- Einstein Lead Scoring add-on has no published price
- Needs real lead history before a local model forms
AI/MCP Integration: Official. Salesforce documents hosted MCP servers, described as beta in its own repository. Third-party posts report general availability from April 2026, which we could not confirm on an official page.
API Integration: Yes. The Account Engagement API v5 exposes score and grade on the Prospect object, and Sales Cloud has its general REST API.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only, with no on-premise option.
Platforms: Web app; mobile support was not verified on the pages checked.
Best For: Mid-size and enterprise teams already on Salesforce that want predictive scoring tied to lead routing.
Our take: Choose Salesforce when your CRM is already Salesforce and the budget has room. Salesforce's materials cite data thresholds for Einstein models (1,000 leads created in the last 200 days in one guide, 120 conversions in another), and we could not reconcile them, so small orgs should confirm before buying.
Editor score: 4.4/5. Coverage is the widest here; unpublished add-on pricing and data hunger cost it points.
3. Freshsales
Freshsales is Freshworks' CRM, and its contact scoring is the cheapest AI-assisted option in this list. Freddy AI scores contacts out of the box, then blends your own signals into the result.
Pricing: Billed annually per user per month: Growth $9, Pro $39, Enterprise $59. Contact scoring is listed under Pro and above on the pricing page, although a support article says scoring is enabled by default for all accounts. Monthly billing is about $11, $47 and $71 per third-party comparison sites, not confirmed on Freshworks' official site. The crawled pricing page rendered in INR, so USD figures were read from the same page with a USD currency parameter.
Top Features
- Freddy AI contact score from 0 to 99
- 1 to 5 star fit rating on the contact page
- Admin-defined positive and negative scoring signals
- Signals from contact, account, engagement and events
- Deal insights on Pro
- Sales sequences and territory management
Pros
- Lowest entry price for scoring here
- Scoring blends AI and admin signals
- Public REST API on every plan
Cons
- No official Freshsales MCP server
- Signal-based setup, not a free-form points builder
AI/MCP Integration: None official for Freshsales. Freshworks documents an MCP integration for Freshdesk only. Community servers wrapping the REST API exist but are not verified by Freshworks.
API Integration: Yes. REST API for contacts, accounts, deals and activities with personal API key authentication and plan-based rate limits.
Cloud Based: Yes. On-premise: not documented as of October 2026.
Platforms: Web app; mobile app availability was not confirmed on the pages checked.
Best For: Small sales teams that want AI-assisted scoring at a price under $40 per seat.
Our take: Choose Freshsales when budget is the constraint and a CRM is part of the purchase. The most detailed scoring article we found was last modified in August 2024, so check current behavior in a trial.
Editor score: 4.3/5. Price-to-capability is the best in the list; the missing MCP server and thinner documentation hold it back.
4. ActiveCampaign
ActiveCampaign ties scoring to its automation builder, so a score crossing a threshold can start a nurture sequence or hand a lead to sales. Scoring is rule-based, and it is priced by contact count rather than by seat.
Pricing: Four tiers: Starter, Plus, Pro, Enterprise, priced by contact count. The official page shows "billed yearly for 1,000 contacts" but its dollar amounts did not render when crawled, so official figures are not documented as of October 2026. Per automationatlas.io (July 2026), not confirmed on ActiveCampaign's site, 1,000 contacts billed annually costs about $15, $49, $79 and $145 per month, or $19, $59, $99 and $179 billed monthly. Lead scoring is not on Starter; deal scoring needs the Pipelines add-on and win probability needs the Sales Engagement add-on, both with unpublished prices.
Top Features
- Contact scores from segment-style conditions
- Deal scores adjustable by automation
- Static or dynamic scoring, with expiring scores
- No cap on score values or number of scores
- Win probability on the Sales Engagement add-on
- Automation recipes that react to score changes
Pros
- Scoring wired directly into automations
- No limit on scores per account
- Official MCP connectors on all tiers
Cons
- No AI-generated lead score documented
- Plan inclusion for scoring conflicts across official pages
AI/MCP Integration: Official. ActiveCampaign publishes MCP connectors for Claude and ChatGPT, included on all four tiers. A dedicated scoring tool is not documented.
API Integration: Yes. REST API v3 with JSON, per-account base URL, included on all tiers, plus webhooks.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS only; no on-premise option was found.
Platforms: Web app with more than 1,000 integrations; native mobile support was not checked.
Best For: Small businesses that run sales follow-up out of email automation more than a CRM pipeline.
Our take: Choose ActiveCampaign when scoring exists to trigger nurture emails. Official pages disagree on whether contact scoring sits on Plus and above or behind the Pipelines add-on, so confirm that with sales before you commit.
Editor score: 4.2/5. Automation-linked scoring is strong; unreadable official prices and the plan-gate conflict cost it points.
5. Adobe Marketo Engage
Marketo Engage scores leads through smart campaigns. A "Change Score" step adds, subtracts or sets points whenever a trigger fires, and you can keep several score fields, for example one for fit and one for behavior.
Pricing: Custom-quoted. Adobe's pricing page lists four packages (Growth, Select, Prime, Ultimate), each with only a "Get pricing" button. Published quotas: 10 users on Growth and 25 on the others, and 20,000 API calls per day on Growth against 50,000 on the others. Which package includes scoring was not confirmed.
Top Features
- Change Score flow step with increment and set values
- Multiple custom score fields
- Trigger-based and filter-based scoring rules
- Negative scoring for unsubscribes and silence
- Native sync with Salesforce, Dynamics and Veeva
- Sales Insight priority flags driven by score changes
Pros
- Very flexible rule design
- Separate fit and behavior scores
- Official MCP server from Adobe
Cons
- No native score decay found in Adobe's docs
- No public pricing
AI/MCP Integration: Official. Adobe built and hosts an MCP server for Marketo Engage, announced in 2026 as an open beta. A community post dated September 30, 2026 reportedly says it is generally available, which we did not confirm. Community servers also exist and are not official.
API Integration: Yes. REST API, with access through an API-only user and a custom service; MCP requests translate into REST calls.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS; no on-premise option was found.
Platforms: Web app with native CRM connectors for Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics and Veeva.
Best For: Marketing teams with a dedicated operator who want to design scoring models by hand.
Our take: Choose Marketo when you have someone who enjoys building smart campaigns. Decay is built manually, per Adobe community threads from 2014 to 2017 that we could not confirm against current product docs, and the decay step itself counts as a score change.
Editor score: 4.0/5. Rule flexibility is excellent; opaque pricing and manual decay pull it down.
6. 6sense
6sense is account-first. It fuses intent data with your CRM and marketing history to predict buying stage, then prioritizes accounts and buying-group members.
Pricing: Custom-quoted. Its Sales Intelligence pricing page lists three configurations without prices. Scoring sits only in the two that include Predictive AI ("Predictive AI Model, Scores, & Dashboards"); the configuration with data credits only has no predictive scoring. Per third-party sources, not confirmed on 6sense's site, a free plan gives 50 data credits and excludes predictive scoring.
Top Features
- Predictive modeling on CRM, MAP and intent data
- ICP fit, buying stage and persona engagement
- Account prioritization with hot, warm and cold views
- 6sense Qualified Accounts status
- AI recommended actions and account summaries
- Lead Scoring API
Pros
- Scores combine fit with third-party intent
- Integrates with Salesforce, Dynamics, HubSpot, Marketo and Eloqua
- Official MCP server with OAuth
Cons
- Scoring method is not publicly documented
- Pricing and scoring both gated behind a sales call
AI/MCP Integration: Official. 6sense publishes an MCP server that requires an eligible license and works with Claude, ChatGPT and other clients; a dedicated scoring tool is not documented.
API Integration: Yes, for licensed customers. The support site lists Company Identification, Lead Scoring and Company Firmographics APIs.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS; on-premise is not documented.
Platforms: Web app and Chrome extension, with CRM and marketing automation integrations.
Best For: B2B teams running account-based programs with budget for intent data.
Our take: Choose 6sense when the question is which accounts are in market, not which form fill is hottest. 6sense remains independent and private as of October 2026, based on search results rather than its newsroom.
Editor score: 3.9/5. Predictive buying-stage modeling is a real strength; undocumented methodology and sales-gated everything limit it.
7. ZoomInfo
ZoomInfo scores accounts mostly through fit and buyer intent on top of its contact database. It is a data platform first, so its scoring is account-level more than lead-level.
Pricing: Custom-quoted. The pricing page lists no dollar amounts, charges by features, licenses and credit usage, and has no free tier. Scoring appears in higher packages: Account Fit Score on Copilot Advanced and above, and predictive account scoring on ABM Enterprise. Professional lists no scoring features.
Top Features
- Account Fit Score
- Buyer intent signals and custom topics
- Predictive account scoring on ABM Enterprise
- AI-generated ideal customer profile from won and lost data
- Company event signals called Scoops
- GTM Studio audiences with AI scoring (early access)
Pros
- Contact data, intent and scoring in one platform
- Official MCP server and API
- Independent public company (NASDAQ: GTM)
Cons
- No lead-level custom scoring builder documented
- Scoring spread across several packages
AI/MCP Integration: Official. ZoomInfo documents a 26-tool MCP server covering search, enrichment and intent signals. No dedicated scoring tool is listed.
API Integration: Yes. Developer documentation moved to docs.gtm.ai, with OAuth scopes.
Cloud Based: Yes. SaaS; on-premise is not documented.
Platforms: Web app, Chrome extension and mobile app, with CRM and marketing automation integrations including Salesforce, HubSpot and Marketo.
Best For: Outbound-heavy teams that need contact data and account prioritization from one vendor.
Our take: Choose ZoomInfo when you are buying data and scoring together. ZoomInfo's pages do not document how its scores are calculated, so test them against your own closed deals during a trial.
Editor score: 3.7/5. The data platform is strong; opaque pricing and thin lead-level scoring documentation put it last.

How to Choose a Lead Scoring System
- Decide rule-based versus predictive first. Rules work with little data; models need history.
- Count your closed deals. HubSpot's AI scores need at least 50 contacts split evenly between converted and not.
- Check which tier carries scoring. In this list it is Pro, Plus or Enterprise, never the entry plan.
- Ask whether you score leads or accounts. 6sense and ZoomInfo lean account-level, and our sales intelligence and account-based marketing guides cover that side.
- Confirm where the score lands. A score trapped in a dashboard does not change what reps do.
- Price the add-ons and onboarding. HubSpot Marketing Hub charges $3,000 to $7,000 once, and Salesforce's Einstein add-on is unpublished.
What This Actually Costs
Take a five-person sales team on the published numbers. Freshsales Pro is 5 seats at $39, or $195 a month ($2,340 a year) billed annually. HubSpot Sales Hub Professional is 5 seats at $90, or $450 a month ($5,400 a year), before any onboarding fee we did not capture. Salesforce Core is 5 users at $195, or $975 a month ($11,700 a year), before the unpublished Einstein Lead Scoring add-on. ActiveCampaign is priced by contacts and its Plus plan includes one seat, so it does not fit this scenario cleanly. Marketo, 6sense and ZoomInfo cannot be priced without a sales conversation.
Final Thoughts
Pick HubSpot if scoring needs to run workflows and you can grow into Enterprise. Pick Freshsales if budget decides it. Pick Salesforce if your sales team already lives there and predictive scores justify the add-on. ActiveCampaign earns its place for email-heavy small teams, but verify the plan gate first. Marketo rewards a patient operator, 6sense answers an account question rather than a lead one, and ZoomInfo is a data purchase that happens to include scoring. Verify every price against the vendor page on the day you buy; three of the seven will not let you do that without a call. Teams that want to see what happens after the score, from call to forecast, should read our revenue intelligence software guide. For the best lead scoring tools to match a small business budget, start with the two priced under $100 a seat.
