How PickMySoft collects, verifies, and scores software reviews — so you can make confident buying decisions.

1. How We Collect Reviews

Reviews on PickMySoft are submitted directly by verified business users — not collected from third-party scrapes, aggregators, or synthetic sources. Every reviewer completes a structured form covering:

  • Overall rating (1–5 stars)
  • Dimension-level ratings: Ease of Use, Features, Value for Money, Support, Reliability
  • Open-ended Pros and Cons (minimum 30 characters each)
  • Company size and use-case context
  • Disclosure of any vendor relationship

Reviews submitted by vendors, company employees, or competitors about each other are automatically excluded using business domain matching and conflict-of-interest screening.

2. Review Verification Process

Every submitted review passes through a three-stage verification pipeline before appearing on any product page:

Identity Verification

Reviewer email is confirmed via a one-time link. Business domain is cross-checked against the company they claim to represent.

Fraud Detection

Automated checks screen for duplicate submissions, bot activity, IP clustering, and known review-farm patterns.

Content Quality

Reviews are checked for minimum content length, language quality, and relevance to the product being reviewed.

Reviews that fail any stage are rejected and never published. Verified reviews display a ✓ Verified Review badge.

3. The PickMySoft Score (PMS Score)

The PMS Score is a weighted composite rating from 0 to 10, calculated from six dimensions of verified user experience. It is recomputed as new reviews arrive.

PMS Score reflects verified user experience exclusively. Vendor-submitted claims, marketing materials, and sponsored placements have zero influence on this score.

4. Award Badges

Award badges are assigned annually based on objective, data-driven criteria:

Category Champion

Highest combined PMS Score, verified review volume, and user recommendation rate in its category. Requires a minimum of 50 verified reviews.

Category Contender

Strong performance with a PMS Score ≥ 7.5 and a meaningful review base. Recognised as a leading alternative to the Champion.

Emerging Favourite

High growth trajectory, recent positive review momentum, or strong performance in a specific use-case segment.

Badge year is always the current calendar year. No vendor payment, sponsorship, or partnership can influence badge assignment.

5. Sponsored & Featured Listings

PickMySoft offers paid featured placements for vendors who want additional visibility. These placements are always clearly labelled with a Featured tag.

Featured and sponsored status affects only:

  • Placement in the “Most Popular” carousel at the top of category pages
  • Inclusion in curated “Featured Software” sections on the homepage

Featured status has zero effect on star ratings, PMS Scores, ranking in organic product lists, or award badge eligibility.

6. Editorial Independence

Our editorial team operates independently from our commercial team. Product reviews, category rankings, and buying guides are written and published without vendor approval, and vendors cannot pay to modify or remove reviews.

If you believe a review violates our policies, you can flag it using the report function on the review card. Our moderation team reviews all flags within 48 hours.
